The weekend gateaway leads you to Lake Mburo National park which is the smallest savannah park in Uganda, measuring 370 square kilometers. It is the most easily accessed National Park, being located along the Kampala Mbarara highway in the western districts of Mbarara and Kiruhura. The park is small but is punctuated by a number of habitats that range from acacia woodland, dry hillsides, rocky outcrops, bushy thickets, open and wooded savannah, seasonal and permanent swamps.

Day 1

Activity of the Day

Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park, Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo & Game Drive in the Afternoon

  • After an early breakfast, you will be picked up in Kampala and transferred to Lake Mburo National Park. Once you reach the park, you shall head out for a game drive through the park. There are even chances of  spotting a leopard resting on a tree in the heat. So, get your camera ready for the ultimate shot. After the game drive, we will have lunch followed by a 2-hours boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where we have the chance to explore the wildlife-rich eastern banks of Lake Mburo. Keep an eye out for crocodiles, buffaloes and hippos as well as plenty of bird species. You will also see a number of warthogs moving around the area.
  • Dinner & overnight.

Day 2

Activity of the Day

Game Walk through the Park in the Morning, Game Drive & Transfer from Lake Mburo National Park to Kampala with a Stopover at the Equator Line

  • Have an early breakfast and head out for a morning game walk to discover the parks beautiful nature and wildlife on foot. If we are lucky we might spot a herd of Africa's biggest antelope: the eland, which is only found in Mburo National Park. You will also have views of Zebras, impalas etc and scenic views of the green vegetation within which the animals enjoy their stay. The time is perfect since many birds are usually still out making noise as well as some animals. After the game walk, we return to the lodge to freshen up and relax. You shall have lunch at the lodge. In the early afternoon, you shall go on another game drive through the park. Thereafter, we will leave Lake Mburo NP and return to Kampala. On the way to Kampala, we have the possibility to stop at the Equator Line depending on the time. Your safari guide will drop you off in Kampala.
