This tour package shall give you the best experience of Uganda's remarkable wildlife diversity ranging from big five and plenty of wildlife that shall be found during the safari in Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo Park. Chimpanzees and lots of primates shall be encountered in Kibale Forest Park, and the Mountain Gorillas of Bwindi Forest Park shall be the biggest highlight. The tour shall treat you to amazing scenery and diverse landscapes, the best weather, and some of the most friendly people.

Day 1

Arrival

Day 2

Rhino Tracking

  • Wake up early for breakfast and prepare for pick up by the driver guide at 7am and leave for Murchison Falls National Park. We will make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - home of Uganda's rhinos. Seeing rhinos in their natural environment, up close and in person is an unforgettable experience. The Rhino Sanctuary is the only place to do this in Uganda, so if you're looking to complete your Big Five game checklist we have to stop here. Today, we have the change to track the endangered rhino on foot. After a short briefing, your rangers will guide you to the Rhinos where you will observe these fantastic animals from a distance of only 30 meters. Watching these huge animals while tracking them on foot is truly an intimidating but a unique experience. We will leave the sanctuary and proceed. You shall stopover in Nakasongola District for lunch at the Kabalega Dinner restaurant. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park reaching in the late afternoon. Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge.

Day 3

Game Drive

  • Have a hot cup of tea with a snack and set off for a game drive by 7am. Murchison Falls National Park is crossed by River Nile dividing it into two regions, the south and north. Game drives are done in the northern side who savannah grasslands harbor an array of big game including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes and several species of Antelopes. After more than 4 hours, return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch you shall set out for the boat safari on River Nile that offers wonderful sightings of Crocodiles, Hippos, Elephants, Buffaloes, and lots of water birds. The boat ride winds up at the base of the spectacular from where you shall leave the boat and set out on a 45 minute hike to the top of the waterfalls. Enjoy the magnificent views of world's strongest waterfall. You shall find the tour driver at the top and you shall transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Leisure Time

Transfer from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park

  • After breakfast check out and leave for Kibale Forest National Park located in western Uganda. Driving along the Albertine rift valley you are treated to panoramic views of the rift valley escarpment. You shall stopover in Hoima for lunch. Continue and reach Kibale National Park in the evening.

Day 5

Chimpanzee Tracking

  • You will have early breakfast in order to get to the park offices not later than 7am. Meet the park guides for briefing and thereafter head into the forest to find a community of habituated Chimps. Enjoy a thrilling experience with man's closest relatives and after an hour trek back to park offices to meet the driver and transfer back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetlands located at the edge of Kibale Forest. Bigodi harbors several species monkeys, birds, butterflies, shrubs and trees. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Game Drive

Transfer from Kiabel Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the Morning & Game Drive in the Evening

  • After breakfast check out and leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. You stop in Fort Portal for lunch, thereafter continue to Queen, arriving in the later afternoon, or have lunch at the lodge and relax a bit, before heading out for your first game drive through Kasenyi Savannah Plains in the evening. Keep your eys open for the big cats, which become more active in the evening hours.

Day 7

  • Have a cup of tea and snack before setting out for the morning game drive at 7am. Expect sightings of big game such as Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Hyena, and many species of Antelope. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of numerous crater lakes and lush hills. After three hours return to the lodge for breakfast and relax. After lunch you shall go for a 2-hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel which offers the best sightings of Hippos, Crocodiles, Elephants, Buffaloes, Monitor Lizards and hundreds of species of water birds. On the way back from the boat cruise, you will do a loop through one of the most scenic part of Uganda: the carters of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Take your time and make a few stops for photos when driving through this spectacular landscape and enjoy the sundowner. Afterwards you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Game Drive

Transfer from the North of Queen Elizabeth National Park to Ishasha Sector in the South: Home of Tree-Climbing Lions & Game Drive in the Afternoon

  • After breakfast you shall drive to southern sector of the park called Ishasha. This area became famous for the Tree Lions and plenty of big game. Here the lions are constantly spotted hanging on braches of huge fig trees. So be alert and observe all trees carefully as you drive through this beautiful savannah landscape. Transfer to the lodge in Ishasha for lunch and relax a bit, before you head out to explore the Ishasha Sector on a game drive on the look-out for the tree climbing lions. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9

Leisure Time

Transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park & Rest of the Day at Leisure

  • Journey time: 2 hours to the Northern Sector (Buhoma) & 4 - 5 hours to the Southern Sector (Rushaga/Nkuringo)

  • After breakfast, leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, driving through Ishasha once again for yet another chance to catch the Lions and other wildlife. You will stopover near Kihihi for early lunch and thereafter continue to southern to Bwindi arriving in the afternoon. Check into your accommodation and spend the rest of the day enjoying the breathtaking scenery!

  • Today we will have the amazing opportunity to observe the gorgeous scenery of Uganda's tropical rainforest and experience a breathtaking encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas. Today's schedule will take us through the impenetrable Jungle of Bwindi National Park, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Bwindi Impenetrable NP occupies the size of about 321 sq km and it's the home of the endangered mountain gorillas. The park is divided into 4 gorilla tracking sectors including Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors. Have an early breakfast and transfer to the park offices at 7am for briefing and thereafter transfer to the starting point of the trek into Bwindi Forest to find the Gorillas. The time taken to trek the gorilla family depends on their location and can take several hours. Once we have reached them, we have an hour time to observe and admire these gentle giants. After an amazing trek and spending up to an hour with the gentle giants, return to meet your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge, where you can relax for the rest of the day.

Day 11

Batwa Experience

  • After breakfast you shall set out for a tour to the Batwa Community on the edge of Bwindi Forest. The Batwa inhabited the forest for centuries, sharing it with the Mountain Gorillas! They lived a unique way of by hunting and gathering in the forest, until recently when they were forced out by conservationists and have been introduced to farming. They shall share their knowledge of the forest and will demonstrate their hunting skills. They shall also treat you to cultural performances. Return to lodge for lunch and relax away the rest of the day.

Day 12

Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable Nationa Park to Lake Mburo National Park, Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo & Evening Game Drive

  • After breakfast, check out and leave for Lake Mburo National Park. You will make a stop in Mbarara town for lunch, thereafter proceed to park, driving through the game trails as you go the lodge (Luxury). Lake Mburo is best known for herbivores, and therefore expect sighting plenty of Zebras, Impala, Topi, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Elands and more! Plus you shall also enjoy the beautiful green scenery. Get to the lodge for relaxation. Later set out for a boat ride on Lake Mburo to see Hippos, Buffaloes, birds and enjoy the wonderful scenery. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13

Game Walk

Game Walk through the Park & Transfer from Lake Mburo National Park to Kampala

  • Journey time:  4 - 5 hours

  • Set out for an early morning walk into the forest to see animals and wonderful nature at close encounter. Return to the lodge for breakfast after which you shall check out and depart for Kampala. You shall stopover at the Uganda Equator line for some picture moments. Continue to Kampala for lunch and thereafter transfer to your accommodation for the evening and overnight.

Day 14

Departure

  • Depending on your flight schedule, you may do a tour of Kampala city before transferring to the Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.

General Tips:

  • Please note the age limit of 15 years and above for gorilla tracking.
  • Book your permits well in advance as only 8 permits are issued per gorilla group in a day. There are 14 habituated gorilla groups in Bwindi.
  • You should be free from infectious diseases such as Flue which can be passed to the gorillas since humans share 98% DNA with gorillas. If you are found to carry an infectious disease you will not be allowed to track.
  • Every participant has the chance to hire a trekking assistance (porter) who will help carrying the bags and support whenever it is needed. For the trekking assistant an additional fee of US$ 15 is charged.
  • OPTIONAL: As an optional activity we highly recommend a HOT AIR BALLOON SAFARI to make your safari at Murchison Falls NP to a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
  • OPTIONAL: Are you interested in getting a close-up experience with the Lions? Then book the LION EXPERIENTIAL at Queen Elizabeth National Park and get closer to the big cats than anyone else, as you will leave the main tracks and drive on unbeaten tracks through the park accompanied by the Cat Doctor.

What to bring:

  • Walking boots, long trousers and rain gears as you will be hiking through Bwindi Forest.
  • Sun screen is recommended.
  • Mosquito repellant is advisable.
  • At least 1-2 liters of drinking water per person during the trekking.
  • Binoculars are always useful, especially when booking the Hot Air Balloon Safari.
