The tourism experience, besides being a recreation and fun moment is yet another great social event. It is moments such as these that spark off the long-lasting friendships and relationships among the various team members during a safari or social event. Most obviously, a team member/ participant is so much interested in unleashing the anxiety and wild bit of him/ herself while feeling the vibes of the wild moments too. It’s all about creating memories that may last a lifetime; pictures, videos, encounters; so much that comes with enjoying the company of one another around. All these are part of what makes a team building Uganda experience exceptional.
Team building Uganda services and activities.
Team building engagements vary and may often be conducted individually or in groups; dependent on the choice of the teammates. The choice of when or where to have these team building engagements can be decided by the team members/ organizer in a way that suits their interests. There are lots of ways to spice up events when on an expedition, stunning ideas that could stir-up the real personalities of participants headed on a safari. A few have been snapped out illustratively;
Self-introduction. One most obvious way of getting to know one another more is definitely introduction. However, there never may be a formal approach and chance of knowing one another in a joy-filled, cheerful environment; each and every one eagerly interested in enjoying the moment ahead. It’s time to know one another! Most preferably following a day of activity, team members can get together into an introductory session. Individuals here may be required to pitch their names of course, career or profession, passions and interests, what excites them about being in groups and teams and many more fascinating and interesting topics.
Quiz competitions. Most often, participants/ clients are way curious and eager to know more; grab new experiences when on a safari; regardless of whether politics, current affairs, history, technology; talk about it. Here is a chance to task each and every one into a question and answer session. These quizzes could take up various formats; graded or ungraded, coordinated or un-coordinated, gender specific or not, rewarded or not, age specific or not to mention but a few. The quiz sessions can be spiced up further if conducted around a night campfire, circles, and native sitting postures. Participants at the end of the session may also be tasked to share key lessons picked from the session.
Songs. Team mates may pair up or stay in groups and exchange favorite songs. At the next practice or session, each team mate then has to perform a verse of their partner’s favorite song to the team. Give a special treat for those who can name the song or identify whose favorite song it is!
Highs and Lows. Lots of ways to have close interactions but getting to know each other’s’ ‘highs and lows’ brings a closer connection. During gatherings; at campfires, food-hubs, resting parlors, clients can get together, share their best and worst moments with one another! Possibly through the course of the day, week, past one month. Participants may alternatively team up into pairs or more per group to engage in this exercise.
Story circles/ fires. As in the old times, the 90s kids and before understand the logic of story circles. How about a moment to commemorate childhood and history? Story circles help refresh the minds of the clients, bringing back memory of the olden times and celebrating life! In this exercise, the focal person/ moderator stands into the middle of the circle and nominates anyone to tell a story about anything; lifetime experiences, old tales, poems, imaginations. These can also be conducted around an evening campfire in a circle.
Point awarding games. As nature states it “Survival for the fittest”, the survivors will always fit; in this case with the highest points. Depending on the location of the safari, a series of graded activities could be conducted among the team members either as individuals or in groups. Some ideas on this could be physical fitness, board games, tug of war, quizzes, mention them. A grading system is set by a non-biased moderator into which individuals/ groups compete fairly and the winner/ winners walk away with prizes.
Never Have I Ever – Prepare enough notecards to hand three to each teammate. Have each teammate write something different they’ve never done on each of the three notecards. Gather all the notecards, shuffle and redistribute. Each teammate must find someone else who has done the thing on the notecard, and write their name on the card. Finish before the timer ends.
Dance Off. Dancing is often known as a ‘talent’, though most commonly known to belong to the selected few. Well, everyone is a great dancer. Set participants onto the dance floor with selected rhythms. Here, each participant has a chance to showcase to the least “a waist-shake”. The dance-off session may involve individual participants, random or group dancers as may be required. Clients may also get into intense competition to spice up the entire session.
Dance battles/ cultural dance battles/ riddles/ tales. On a single safari trip, there is so much to learn about cultures, cultural dances in particular. To start with, the clients present diverse cultures; tribes, nations; and here is a chance to know more about the diversity. Cultural dances, songs, riddles, tales can be performed by the participants; more probably following a long day safari.
Photo-upload contests. During the course of the day, participants are busy; on safaris, taking pictures of the scenery, plant or animal species, selfies and group photos, and yes, these are moments to cherish, remember and transform into memories. One yet innovative and yet interesting way of doing this is photo-contests. Clients may upload photographs onto media channels on bases of rankings; highest number of pictures, best photographs of the day, week and many more. Winners of these contests may then be determined at the end of each session.
Jersey Worthy – Carefully cut a couple sheets of paper into about 30 rectangles. On each rectangle, write a random number between 1-99, and put them in a pile. Placing each piece of paper face down, reveal each one by one, and compete with whoever associates it with the jersey number unique sports character; soccer, basketball, athletics.
Sequential words. Knowledge of words is crucial in communication. Here is also an opportunity to boost the vocabulary of these individual participants in a sequential word challenge. Participants may get into a circle, a group whereby the facilitator sparks off the challenge with any word of his or her choice. In a uniform manner, the subsequent participants are tasked to as well sequentially mention words that start with the last letter as had previously been said.
